The more authentic the experience, people, purpose and tools, the more children participate, learn and thrive.
Authentic Learning Environment is a model of education based on how children learn naturally.  Our focus is to provide the conditions and content for each learner to develop and learn for life-long success and well-being.

In 2018, work began on a new model of education. A great deal of time has been spent getting the foundations in place first to ensure that the theory is solid and we have the tools to transfer Principles, Values and Learning Objectives into practice.

4 VALUES  A set of four core Values are designed to guide us toward well-being, for individuals, communities and the environment.

4 PRINCIPLES  There are four main Principles for this education model specifically designed around how children learn naturally in a meaningful way.

1 STRUCTURE  We have a Structure that enables the Principles and Values to work. Some structure designs include a Living Curriculum and using what is known as the 'hidden curriculum' by making a set of visible Learning Objectives based on the Values.

In September 2024, the model was put into practice with the launch of Lerntree, a progressive education provision in Rutland (UK). Follow the adventures and progress of Lerntree by following social media channels on Facebook and Instagram.  For full details and to download the prospectus visit www.lerntree.co.uk

You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.”
